Preparing a Coogee Backyard for a New Landscape

Home Tree Services recently completed a Celtis sinensis tree removal project at a residential property in Coogee, Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

The homeowners were planning a complete backyard renovation, including new concrete work and landscaping. To prepare the site, an established Celtis tree needed to be removed before construction could begin.

Our team safely dismantled the tree, removed all green waste and prepared the property for the next stage of the project.

Why the Celtis Tree Was Removed

Celtis sinensis, also known as Chinese Hackberry, is recognised as an invasive environmental weed in many parts of New South Wales. It spreads rapidly through bird-dispersed seeds and can establish itself throughout gardens, parks and bushland.

Removing the tree gave the homeowners a clean site to begin their landscaping project while also eliminating an invasive species from the property.

Safe Tree Removal on a Steep Clay Slope

One of the biggest challenges on this project was the location of the tree.

The Celtis was growing on a steep, uneven clay slope at the rear of the property, requiring careful planning and controlled dismantling.

Our arborists removed the tree in small sections, safely lowering each piece before transporting the material to the front of the property for processing.

All branches were mulched, the green waste was removed and the work area was kept clean and organised throughout the project.

Once the tree removal was complete, the site was left clear and ready for the builders to begin the next stage of the backyard renovation.
